Melon, part of Kin+Carta, is а software development company founded in 2003. Their talent spans from web to mobile, backed by DevOps, QA, and UX/UI departments. As of 2022, Melon is part of Kin+Carta, a dynamic global ecosystem of over 2,000 technologists, strategists, and creatives, giving you access to a wealth of expertise to enhance your digital presence and drive transformation and innovation.

Together, they are especially good at building teams of resourceful and conscientious developers with a fresh view, who rely on each other. Their clients come from all around the world and a variety of industries like telecommunications, entertainment, FMCG, fintech, manufacturing, digital marketing, etc. Or company sizes like start-up, corporate, and SME.

Challenge

While having large operations in Bulgaria melon had a challenge in scaling up their operations in North Macedonia.

Given the nature of operations of MelonTech they had limited internal People and culture management that was running both the talent acquisition, people care and talent management resulting in their need of a help of attracting fresh talent from the market. On top of this diversity of different technology profiles that required special attention each given the nature of the work to be performed and the experience needed. The IT labor market and its nature in North Macedonia presented enough of a challenge because of the limited talent pool and many new players entering the ICT segment.

Solution

To address the challenges presented by our partner, IGA crafted a special locally optimized strategy elevating the brand of our partner and leveraging local specifics to be able to deliver astonishing results. As incorporated in our D2H, IGA took the time and built a unique employer value proposition, especially highlighting the innovative projects of our partner demonstrating career growth opportunities.

The employer value proposition combined with the unique employee persona as well a personalized approach contributed to creating a tactic of unmatched delivery. While doing all the above IGA team perceived an opportunity to present and access previously untapped by our partner talent pool – Kosovo because of all the similarities and strengths shared with the Macedonian pool.

Results

The investment made in preparation and the small steps in the beginning were reflected in results achieved. During a period of 14 months MelonTech grew their team with 21 top notch professionals.

We at IGA are proud of our delivery especially given its significance in regards to the M&A move where MelonTech became a part of Kin+Carta group.
