Challenge

Given the market condition in the Netherlands – a highly competitive market with a shortage of skillful engineers, our client made a decision to expand its talent pool outside of the borders of the Netherlands and offer an extensive relocation opportunity to foreign engineers, while simultaneously not having previously explored and gained inside about foreign markets.

Additionally, given the demographic tendencies in the Netherlands’ workforce characterized by a deficiency of young professionals while offering appealing benefits, our main focus needed to be put on finding graduated software engineers below the age of 30.

Scala is a functional programming language and one of the languages used for machine learning and big data engineering, peaking demands across the globe for the skill in limited quantities.

To successfully satisfy our customer’s needs, the potential new hires had to be experienced and skilled professionals in the field of Scala or Java. Having in mind the requirements given by our customer, the recruitment cycle consists of 5 steps involving, pre-screening calls done by International Growth Agency’s team, initial call with LunaTech’s team, technical assignment, and technical assessment review all culminating in the final interview.

Solution

The chosen model of collaboration and successful hiring was IT recruitment as a service leveraging IGA’s unique Desire2Hire (D2H) model. To make sure that the success was guaranteed as part of the D2H model, IGA’s team did a thorough analysis of the requirements, prepared and presented a strategy while committing on expected results within a previously estimated time frame for each quarter.

As a crucial part of the strategy, IGA created a unique employer value proposition, communication strategy and a key employee perks and benefits package. For each of the two desired profiles we created an ideal employee persona with the scope of augmenting the number of fitting candidates that fulfill all of the requirements per position.

Results

For the purpose of delivery and after a thorough market research, the chosen talent pools were Europe (22) Africa (6) Asia (4) totaled in 1250 fitting candidates approached in 1.5 years divided in quarters.
