Codesta | CoFoundry D2H

Our customer was a joint venture by two companies Codesta headquartered in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) a software development house and co-Foundry headquartered in South Africa (SA) who partnered up with International Growth Agency (IGA) to serve an internet publishing technology solution company from the United States

The company is building a platform that revolutionizes the way one of a kind luxury antiques and goods are treated on the digital market  with a unique purpose to support and assist all art segments. The main product fulfilling their purpose is a first of its kind eCommerce Manager (eCM) that enables dealers to centralize their inventory and manage it across multiple marketplaces.

Challenge

The platform represented a complex technological solution – eCM, that allowed art houses information to be distributed around digital marketplaces built with Magento 2.0 as an e-commerce engine, using Python and Django for data mining and web scraping while operating on Java based backend.

To successfully deliver the product vision the customer had a need to hire several software engineering professionals in 4 fields of expertise: Python/Django, PHP/Magento , fullstack Java and Quality Assurance (Manual and Automation). The requirements that the fitting candidates needed to fulfill were work experience in the e-commerce segment, working remotely in distributed delivery fashion dispersed in different time zones. Having in mind the multi cultural set up of our client and confidentiality, the personality requirements were demanding, reflected in a 7 step recruitment process involving personality, aptitude and IQ tests, technology assignment, code review followed up with a technical interview.

Solution

For this specific case the chosen model of collaboration was IT recruitment as a service leveraging IGA’s unique Desire2Hire (D2H) model. To make sure that the success was guaranteed as part of the D2H model, IGA’s team did a thorough analysis of the requirements, prepared and presented a strategy while committing on expected results within a given time frame.

As a crucial part of the strategy, IGA created a unique employer value proposition and a key employee perks and benefits package. For each of the four desired profiles we created an ideal employee persona. In order to ensure consistency and efficiency, the IGA team designed a tailored recruitment process, described in BPMN. The initial vision was a 10 step hiring process that after IGAs advisory was reduced to 7 steps, resulting in shortening time to hire and optimizing cost per hire, while guaranteeing positive candidate experience during the hiring process.

Results

For the purpose of delivery and after a thorough market research, the chosen talent pools were 3 countries from Africa, 5 countries from Europe, and 2 countries from Asia. In total the talent pool was 750 fitting candidates who were approached in 1 month.
